The questions is, do they mean it? They certainly didn't when they did the same thing for Harriton. The following notes were provided by a citizen who was there. If you were there, you know these observations to be true! After reading this, I can only say "throw the bums out!"
The Queen of Hearts would have fit in beautifully at the Lower Merion School Board’s (“Board”) July 23rd meeting approving Lower Merion High School's nearly $110 million “not-to-exceed” budget, the largest project in our district’s history.
‘Verdict first, then the trial!’
Our imperious Board leaders handled the meeting with their usual cavalier style. The rushed presentation was difficult to follow and the fact that no handouts were made available either prior to or during the meeting is completely inexcusable. No apologies or accommodations were made to those attempting to follow the slide presentation while furiously taking notes.
‘Verdict first, then the trial!’
The room was too small to comfortably accommodate the audience and no recording was made to broadcast on the school channel for those unable to attend. You know, the TAXPAYERS.
‘Verdict first, then the trial!’
And, in keeping with the leadership of this Board’s autocratic style, comments on agenda items such as the proposed “not-to-exceed” budget were tolerated only at the meeting’s beginning, BEFORE the public could hear the presentation or view any materials.
‘Verdict first, then the trial!’
The indifference with which the Board regards the public, - you know, the TAXPAYERS - is disgraceful. All our residents deserve a voice in the District’s affairs, not just those whom our aristocratic Board leaders deem worthy.
